"The Three Kings"
Inspired by a particular Heiau (Hawaiian sacred land) on the Napali Coast where Hawaiian Ali'i (royality) were laid to rest within the high cliff caves. It was considered an honor by the subject who was selected to carry the body to the final resting place. Once in place, the subject would leap to their death so that the location would never be revealed.

The Na Pali Coast is sacred to many and has been a source of inspiration to Denise for the past decade. This dramatic seventeen mile stretch where cliffs meet the ocean is found along the Northwest shore of the island of Kaua'i in Hawaii. The area is inaccessible by car and is best seen by exploring the Kalalau Trail or by water craft.
When coupled with her vivid botanicals Denise creates an island style fantasy inspired by an unparalled reality.
